2947US

FENTON CHERRY ROYAL PURPLE AMPHORA VASE This Cherry on Royal Purple Amphora Vase 2947 US was introduced in Fenton's Connoisseur Collection in 1995 for their 90th Anniversary. Royal Purple is created by layering cobalt glass over pure gold ruby to achieve the deep rich color. Designed by Martha Reynolds she used gleaming cherries highlighted with pure gold and ivory to complement the polished brass stand and deep purple color. This is #186 of the 890 originally produced which is all on the tiny bottom of the vase along with a painted scripted F, and the original ware sticker on the side showing the original price which is higher than what I'm starting this at! The signature of the talented artist who painted it is within the actual design as they sometimes do and is signed in gold! The vase is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and the entire pattern is intact! An added plus it is in the original box, with the original sticker on the bottom which does have some writing on by the collector but is just noting the piece inside and the ware number and piece #, also has the envelope from the Connoisseur card with a beautiful sticker showing the 90th Anniversary but sadly the card is missing from inside but I've left the envelope there! WOW what a piece to add to your collection.

Click for more detail...

7380AW

FENTON AUTUMN LEAVES ON BLACK COVERED CANDY J This Autumn Leaves on Black Candy Jar 7380 AW was part of Fenton's 1994 General Catalog. Measuring 9 1/2" tall, with the lid on, this candy jar features a gold and green leaf design and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and the pattern is intact. There is a lot going on, on the bottom of this candy jar so here goes... You will find the trusted Fenton logo on the bottom with a 9 under showing the decade it was made in, as well as the signature of the artist who painted it which is J.K. Spindler and is also dated 1994, this was limited to the year of production so it is #973, and was a Family Signature Series so it is signed by Don Fenton who is no longer with us. Whew oh and there was something else that has been scratched out?? Sometimes on 2nds Fenton would print their name Fenton or later in years just write a Fenton F but the size of these scratches do not fit any of that. I don't know what it could have been unless there was an issue with the signing equipment? Whatever is was this is the only imperfection on this piece and cannot be seen unless you turn it over to intentionally look at it! This will be a great addition to your Fenton collection!

Click for more detail...

7793UY

FENTON BLUE BURMESE DAFFODIL VASE FAMILY SIGN Wow what a find! This beautiful Blue Burmese Daffodil Vase 7793 UY was produced by Fenton to be used for the 1999 Family Signing Event piece! What that means is higher volume dealers would have a Fenton Family member visit their shop to have a "Signing Event" at least once a year. A special piece would be made that could only be gotten at that event! This would entice customers to the event and you had to buy either the signing piece or some other one to have the family member sign and then you could also bring 2 pieces of your own Fenton from home to have signed as well! I know as I had these events each year as the 2nd largest Fenton Dealer in the USA! I was very proud of that as I love Fenton and felt an obligation to represent them well.

Now that I told you something you probably already know, let me tell you this 5" tall Blue Burmese Daffodil Vase is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and no signs of ware. The family member who signed this piece is "Don Fenton" who is no longer with us, and dated it 1999. Because of being blown into a mould you cannot see a Fenton logo on the piece but this is common when pieces are blown not fully pressed. What a great addition to your Fenton collection!

Included in the 1996 Connoisseur Collection, Fenton's commitment to the production of rare and unusual glass treatments, the formula to make Mandarin Red was first developed in 1933 and is a heat sensitive glass designed to show gentle striations where the colorants react to applied heat causing variation in color from piece to piece and fit perfectly into that category. Click for more detail...

1579FZ

FENTON LIFESTYLE FRENCH OPALESCENT LIFESTYLE You will need to be the judge on this one! In 1998 Fenton created a line to keep up with their collector's ever changing "Lifestyles" and for decorators to utilize. To me this Vase looks like the 1579 FZ 6 1/2" Pinstripe Vase in French Opalescent that was part of that line. Now here's where I drive myself crazy it looks like the picture, the pinstripe to me should be straight all the way through but it starts straight at the bottom and ends that way at the top but is swirl as a swirl optic would usually be through the middle. The picture does appear to be the way as well. To me there is a slight tint to the F/O and again the picture has a slight tint to the glass. So after saying all this let me also say I think it is a beautiful piece, the coloring is beautiful and has such a soft touch that I can see why they used it for a decorating "Lifestyle," It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and shows no signs of ware. Because this was blown you cannot see the logo in the bottom. This will be a magnificent addition to your Fenton collection!

3055PD

FENTON MEADOW BEAUTY SEA MIST GREEN CREST VAS What a magnificent combination of colors on this Meadow Beauty Vase 3055 PD with a Sea Mist Green Crest done by Fenton for the 1997 General Catalog. The Meadow Beauty garden floral design was created by Robin Spindler. No other glass company combines the talents of the chemists, craftsmen and artists like Fenton does and this piece is the perfect example! The chemists creates the magnificent colors, then the glass artisans use a series of blowing, cooling and reheating steps to create the French Opalescent Rib Optic design on this piece. As well as the Crisp band of fresh Sea Mist Green Crest that they add. Finally the talented painters add their handpainted design to complete a true work of art!
This Meadow Beauty Basket vase measures approximately 6 3/4" tall with a Sea Mist Green Crest. I have 2 of these vases and both are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, no discoloration and the pattern is intact! The trusted Fenton logo is hard to see but is there with a 9 under (hard to see because the plunger did not press hard when blown into the mould) and is signed by the artist who painted it. Add this or other Meadow Beauty pieces I have listed to your collection today!

Click for more detail...

CV146C7

FENTON BLUE SPIRAL OPTIC OPALINE SATIN OPEN A This Opaline Satin Spiral Optic "Sweet Pea" Open Heart Arches Basket CV146 C7 was produced by Fenton for QVC in October of 1996. The Open Heart Arches has a long history behind it! In the early 1950's Frank Fenton purchased a Biscuit Jar that he believed was designed by Nicholas Kopp in the 1890's. The design of the jar was known as Open Heart Arches by collectors. He had the Fenton's mould maker, Francis Lehew, design a flat bottom sugar bowl which was to have a metal lid, but they could not find a supplier for the lids! The project was halted and the mould put away for over 40 years! Fenton was looking for new items for QVC and in 1993 the staff stumbled across this mould. Nancy Fenton loved it as a shape for vases and baskets! So the mould makers modified the mould and the rest is history! When QVC saw the first basket in 1994, which was the Cranberry Opalescent, they asked this basket be exclusive to QVC and Fenton agreed. So between 1994 - 2001 Fenton made 6 baskets and 2 vases with this mould for QVC!

This beautiful Blue Satin Opaline Swirl Optic Basket stands approximately 8 3/4" tall it has a pink & white "Sweet Pea" design. This twisted swirl handled basket is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and the pattern is intact. The bottom has the scripted fenton painted on the bottom and is signed by the talented artist who painted it. PLUS as an added bonus it is signed by Bill Fenton! What a beautiful addition to your Fenton collection!
