Click here to enlarge image and see more about item BT160711204: TOPAZ BLOCK OPTIC CANDY JAR HOCKING GLASS

Click for more detail...

BT160711204

TOPAZ BLOCK OPTIC CANDY JAR HOCKING GLASS This Topaz Block Optic Covered Candy Jar is the shorter of the two made in the Block Optic pattern, but the only one made in topaz! Produced by Hocking Glass Co., from 1929-33 this covered candy stands approximately 2 ¼" tall (not counting lid) and 4 ¾" in diameter. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks but there are flea bites. I'll do my best to explain where; there is a minor area of inner rim roughness on the inside base with 2 flea bites and 2 flea bites on the outside of the rim which can't be seen with the lid on and not really noticed with it off either until you look closely for it; there is one small area of roughness on the part of the lid that sits down into the bottom (not the lip) but it's just rough no flea bites or chips to it at all; finally there is I believe a flea bite on the top "circle" on the handle, I say believe as it is rough which is usual as they did not polish this glass when coming out of the mould and these edges were rough but my eyes are bad and it does catch my nail so I'd rather say it's a flea bite and be wrong than not say it and it be there! All this sounds like a lot, but it truly isn't you can't really see any of these issues and a piece of its age without any chips is amazing. They are not bad and only mentioned for complete disclosure, most people do not even usually bother to detail them! These pieces are hard to find with a lid at all!
