Click for more detail...

7252BR

FENTON BURMESE DC VASE Burmese has had a long interesting history with Fenton. Charles Goe was a well known Research & Development Chemist Fenton. For years he thought about recreating the glass originally created in 1885 by Frederick Shirley of Mt. Washington Glass Co. In 1969 he made that dream a reality and in October of that year informed Bill Fenton he not only perfected Burmese Glass but the first items were on the lehr. That very night he went to play a game of handball and died shortly after the game. He never got to see the success his beautiful Burmese Glass became! Fenton continued to produce Mr. Goe's formula for Burmese until the mid 1980's when the NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) instituted restrictions. Fenton had to then change the formula which gave them trouble in reproducing. After many attempts it was again perfected and Burmese became an even softer more pastel shade that we still love today!
Now that you know the history of the glass let me tell you about this beautiful DC Vase 7252 BR that was produced under the original formula by Fenton from 1970 - 72. Measuring 7" tall it is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks or signs of ware. It is a plain vase, no painting, which many collectors prefer! The best part it was part of the very beginning of the making of Burmese! What a wonderful addition to your Fenton collection!
